Disrupt: Sing it Out

Tempers are short out here.

The fact is that the human condition leaves one to manage grief, sorrow, pain, and disappointment with as much frequency as the fun stuff. Add to that a societal environment which doesn’t acknowledge the humanity of some at all and you get some funky emotional soup. That soup is spilling out in our communications.

I am a big proponent of getting help for the overwhelm. Processing what you are feeling with a trained professional does help. Not surprisingly, I also believe in using your voice to release some excess — Some of you do as well. You are already putting on a favorite song when you are in certain moods. I am just encouraging a more deliberate approach.

Today, I’d like you to develop a soundtrack for your emotional health and sing it out as needed. I mean full voiced, non-judgmental singing. The voice will not lie. Since it will show what you are feeling it might be helpful to let it do so on your terms.

My current mood, singing along with the Flobots.
