Perform: Activate the Net

The net I am referring to is the elastic net of air we are surrounded by all the time. The fact is that even when we are breathing ineffectively, we are breathing. Survival wins.

So what does it mean to perform with breath? It is simply the choice to not only survive but to connect. To move the air around you in order to communicate with other humans. This connection does not require voice, just air. One organism speaking to other organisms.

Then, to activate that most interesting breath pattern, the voice, is a gesture of grace. Sure we can dial it in, we can crash our way through conversations. This is in essence what many of us do, most of the time. That is talking and/or singing but it is not communication. So today and over the next week, consider giving this gift to yourself and others.

To breathe in the most delicious thing and express it using your unique voice.

Happy Holidays! GROW Voice blog will be back on January 1st.
