Acquire: Look Down

At the bottom of your legs, are your feet.

Possibly the most important, neglected part of your body. They hold our weight, and put up with variances in stance, gait, and usage. That is all before we even get into some of the sub-optimal footwear some of us are into.

Here is the simple fact. Through muscular fascia we are connected from toe to tongue, and these connections go through the musculatures which support or hinder breathing. For voice-use, it isn’t just about foot abuse, pain, or injury. It is fundamentally about how we get to our breath.

So today, take a moment to baby those feet. If you have injuries or differences, you already know what they are, which means you already likely have exercises and supports that are supposed to be in place. Get those back on track or see if there are more advanced versions of what you have been doing for a while. Take the time to soak your feet, massage them, and/or use acupressure balls to work out the rough spots. Spend the time, it is work every minute.
