Flow: Contrast

For many of us, this is already a very different holiday season. We understand things better by contrast, so we can miss a particular holiday gathering or invitations from friends. This contrast can illuminate what is missing but it can also illuminate what remains.

This is an essential understanding to apply to your voice use. Silence gives context to sound (and vice versa). Fast-paced speech gives context to a slower passage. You get the idea.

The invitation today is simple — play with contrasts. Take an extra moment to respond. Slow down when making an important point. Let your breathing become just as important as what you are about to say. Notice what it does in your voice use.
