Variance: Smell That?

What is your favorite smell?

It could be a type of flower, the smell of clean dirt, or leather, or bread. The point isn’t to create decide if the smell you love is “normal.” The point is to recall it. If you have access to it in your home, seek it out. If not, remember when you last smelled it in as much detail as you can muster.

Once you have it, that most beloved odor, take it in. Inhale as if the air before you is amazing in every way. Breathe in memory, and warmth with that odor. Try to fill yourself with it.

That inhalation, the one we reserve for the most wonderful of odors is the lesson and the gift. Your body deserves that level of expansion daily. And, right now, when so many are struggling for breath it is important to remember this simple, powerful gesture.

In case you are wondering mine is Lilac. Breathe.
