Disrupt: Break up with Stillness

March 12, 2019
5 min read

Most of us were trained to sit still, stand still, and generally be still. These bodies, however, were not built for it. Bodies need to move.

Your challenge today is to take the stairs, stand more, and/or have a 3-minute dance party with or without a co-worker. You get the idea. Insert some movement into different parts of your day and then observe how your breathing adapts to meet the change.

Your body's unique factory settings and current level of wear and tear are real factors. Be kind, be curious, and move as fully as your body allows.

Gina Razón is the principal voice specialist at GROW Voice LLC, a full-service voice and speech studio in Boston’s Back Bay.  She has over 16 years of experience both as a teacher of voice and speech, and a voraciously curious voice user.  Gina has worked professionally as a classical singer for over a decade and more recently as professional public speaker.  For more information on the studio or to book Gina visit www.growvoice.com.
