Perform: Do(e) a Deer
Happy Friday! This week there was another lovely article making the rounds about why you should sing. I don't mean why people who can sing well should sing, but why everyone should sing.
Reasons to sing range from improved overall health to increased presence as you get used to moving air. The benefits by now have been well cataloged and studied. I will add this. You should sing because you want to -- because humans are wired to sing.
When people tell me they don't sing it usually comes back to why they can't sing. To which I say do it anyway. Your voice is not less worthy of expression because it lacks coordination or alignment. You should sing.
Today, take a moment. Pick a song. And, find a location where you can just let it loose. No judgment, no cruelty -- just sing. It will make you feel good.
