It is snowing in MA, and much of the Northeast, this morning. Snow is always…
Variance: Fatigue
There is a deep veil of tired over many people, myself included, right now.
We are tired of the pandemic, tired of social media, tired of people dying, and tired of the contentiousness of this moment — just exhausted. Every part of us wants to return to normal that is to some pattern from the time before. It is a tempting proposition.
It is the most normal, human thing to want to ignore what frightens us and go back to what feels good. But that choice requires you to choose silence, to choose disassociation, and this is a blog about Voice.
So go ahead and say, “I hate this.” Say, “I’m tired.” Construct and voice a sentence of such length and obscenity that it makes you blush (this one is probably best left for private use). Say all the things out loud because this disruption is crucial. There is growth, and understanding on the other side of this thorny mess.
Take breaks, take breaths, and try to stay in the reality of the moment.
