Articulate: Just a turn of phrase

There are ways we like to say things. Why you use certain words and not others, why you chose a particular idiom or turn of phrase.

In truth, we've been trying on different ways to say the same things since we started to speak. As we got older, we borrow different phrases appropriate to the circles we inhabit -- Always trying on one phrase or another.

This is the way of language. For those of you who want to lead, however, there is an additional frontier. How do you create your identity in speech? How do you find your clear and authoritative path through content?

It certainly doesn't mean creating new idioms whole cloth (though perhaps that is your gift), it means being intentional about why you chose these words. It means knowing completely what the words you use, actually mean. It means making what you plan to say more important than how you hope you sound.
