Observe: Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Here in the Northeast, the darkness is upon us. We wake into it and we return home from work as it eases back in.

If you live in this hemisphere you are likely familiar with this pattern, the days grow shorter and winter comes.

This cycle has definite physical and psychological impacts which you should observe and address for your health (For example, I am in a relationship with a Full Spectrum light at the moment).

This cycle also tends to make for more introspection, shallower breathing, and more difficult voicing as the body takes longer to release itself from sleep. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just something to notice.

Today would be a great day to observe how you are responding to the shift in the light. Do you notice changes in thinking or behavior? Are you struggling with breath or voice in the morning or at another time of day? Do you have enough energy to connect with others?

These questions should get you thinking about where you stand and hopefully about what you need. The key here is to acknowledge the reality of your existence and to never be afraid of the dark.
