Observe: Touch

Breath is so interesting. It is not only the fuel for our existence but it is also highly responsive to it.

Let's take touch, for example. Here in the U.S. we seem to have lost any understanding of how to touch other humans. Particularly humans we are not close to. In the business realm, we can blame the slow fade of the handshake as a daily greeting.

The handshake, while it feels formal, is a completely acceptable way to make physical contact and let your body "see" the other person. Touching someone changes the way we breath around them.

Sadly, we are out of practice and often attempting to make more physical contact can go awry. Also, some people really don't like touching or being touched adding a layer of complication. Tomorrow I will go into how to disrupt your thoughts, and perhaps action, around touch.

For today, I'd just like you to observe while you ask yourself these questions. Do you touch anyone outside of your circle of friends/family? Does anyone outside that circle touch you? How do you feel about it?
