Observe: Transitions

Moving from one place to another. From a one-on-one meeting, to a conference room or call, presenting to a client, or stepping onto a larger stage. All of these are speaking situations with their own requirements, their own techniques and parameters.

We transition through different scenarios every day, navigating communication with mixed results. I think that sometimes we forget that the transitions from one task to another, from from space to another, are as important as those tasks and space themselves.

In the transitions, we adjust our breath and adjust our thinking. The brain orients itself. In transition, we gain insight and as a result we gain clarity and impact.
