Office Space: What's in Your Head

When did you last feel like you communicated clearly and with authority?

Was it easy or hard to find that moment in your mind? Did you succeed?

The brain is a wondrous place but we aren't always adept at interpreting the information. Memory, imagination, and fact can jumble in frustrating ways. Especially as we view our own past experiences. This is also a wonderful loophole if used for your good.

If you view a speaking experience through negative judgments you will view it more negatively. If you choose to view it positively, then it becomes more positive in your memory.

This applies to the present moment as well. If you view your interactions with negativity they will not only seem more negative but, this view can and will influence your next interactions. If you are overly positive, you may not improve yourself but your results will be much better. I recommend an objectively positive approach. To try to see your communications as generally positive but with curiosity about what can improve it.

The offer today is this, to remember when you were at your best as a speaker and voice user. To remember what it felt like and imagine how that could be the norm. And, especially if you can't remember a moment like that, imagine how you can recast your opinion about your performance in a more positive light. Do let me know how it goes.
