Variance: MIA

Good Morning, Everyone!

If you are even a semi-regular reader you probably noticed that there has been no blog for a week. The fact is, I just had to stop and take a break. In an act of unceremonious, radical self-care. I won’t say it was easy or that I was free from guilt at not focusing on my content. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that I had nothing to offer and no desire to fake it.

What I did do was a lot of voicework, both physical and mental. I performed in an online Cabaret (my first public singing performance since February). And, I spent a lot of time on my yoga mat. I needed that release in order to continue to do my work.

So my questions for you as you work towards your voice and speech goals are:

  • What are you holding too tightly?
  • Is your mind or your body resisting?
  • What is impeding your flow (be it of breath, ideas, movement)?
  • Do you have a clear intention?
  • Given your intention, are you headed the right way?

As always, let me know what you are thinking by commenting here or sending me an email.

This Friday at 12:30 pm EDT, Gina will be live on FB. These will be short voice alignment sessions aimed at voice skills building. Watch it on the GROW Voice FB page. I hope to see you there.
