Variance: Pace Yourself

This morning, I feel like hell. Not ideal under any circumstances -- Surreal when there is a pandemic on the ground. And, I have a full day ahead.
Many of us would drop a shoulder and plow through until we can collapse later. Certainly, that would have been my plan a decade ago. But, I spend my days using my voice to teach and influence others so instead, I've rescheduled what can be rescheduled. I cleared my schedule before the big item in my day -- the workshop I'm teaching for a national organization -- and scheduled quiet but critical office tasks for the afternoon.
It will be a much lighter day but now I can spend my energy making sure the client gets the best workshop possible and that my voice can make the strongest impact.
The moral being that you need to allow for the body's needs and realities. I could make it through a busier schedule but it wouldn't be the quality of work that my clients (and I) deserve. It isn't always possible to take a sick day but there are often ways to manage and respect the energy you have available. Be well out there.
