Perform: Tear down that Wall
The fourth wall, that is. That mythical division between us (the person, or persons, in front) and them (the listeners). In the performing arts, a lot of time is spent establishing that wall and selectively breaching it. In the world of “real” presentations however, we build that wall at our peril.
At this moment in time, people are starved for connection. They crave the authentic while diving deeper into devices and heavily curated digital lives. This means that when you are actually IRL you are in an amazing position to create an actual impact. There has always been exceptional potential when humans come together. It just happens that these interactions are becoming almost a novelty.
Why not really look at and connect with these other beautiful humans and see what happens? It could be that authentic connection is just what you need as well.
