Perform: Voicing Identity

Today is the International Day of the Girl. It is also National Coming Out Day.

That these two events share this day made me smile because they are both fundamentally about voicing One’s identity.

The fact is many of us are working to develop a voice that can convey authority. A voice that is clear and intentional. A voice that is heard and understood. This process marries the neurophysical to the societal. It is how many of us enter the World.

Which makes the voice not an object to be polished for its own sake, but a beautiful tool that can be used to make Truth audible.

Today, I want you to perform an act of Grace, an incredibly Human act.

I want you to use your voice to support those around you. I want you to use your voice to let your identity be heard out loud (even if you are its only audience). Speak and/or sing Truth into conversation, presentation, and performance.

The most beautiful thing about the voice, these unique air particles jostling forward through space, is that at its core it strives to connect. We strive to connect and we deserve to succeed.

So, my friends — How can I serve you today? My voice is ready.
